Heywood Hospital Names Michael Grimmer Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer

Sept. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Gardner, MA – Michael D. Grimmer has been named Vice President for Support Services and Chief Administrative Officer by Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA.

As Vice President for Support Services and Chief Administrative Officer, Grimmer will be responsible for the management of all facility services supporting Heywood Hospital, including facilities management, and environmental and food services. In addition, he will oversee Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech, Pharmacy and the Wound Center.

A results-oriented facilities professional, highly experienced in bringing large construction projects to fruition on-time and on-budget, Grimmer specializes in cutting-edge environmental practices, earning him appointments to the Boston Green Ribbon Commission (2010-2011), which works with organizations including healthcare and higher education to reduce the carbon footprint of the greater Boston area.

Since 1995, Grimmer has served as Vice President, System Engineer and Support Services Officer at St. Mary’s Health System in Lewiston, ME. Previously, he was Manager of Engineering Services at Northwestern General Hospital in Toronto, Canada.

A resident of Lewiston, ME, Grimmer received a Bachelor of Science degree from University of New Brunswick, Canada, a Certificate in Healthcare Administration from University of Southern Maine and is pursuing his Masters degree in Business Administration.

In addition, Grimmer is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
