Sept. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Dallas, Texas, USA — PMForum has announced the results of its 31st Drawing, the 18th drawing for free project management books, in its PM GiveAways™ Program.  The drawing for 10 FREE copies of Rescue the Problem Project, a book by Todd C. Williams and published by AMACOM in the USA was held on 23 August 2011.  Ten winners were selected in the random number-based drawing.

A total of 682 people in 81 countries registered for this drawing.  The 10 winners, each of whom will receive a free copy of the book, with country locations noted were the following: Tarja Isosaari (Finland); Jean-Jacques Verhaeghe (South Africa); Merhawi Okbaselasie (South Africa); Roger Aucoin (USA); Alberto Zenteno (Mexico); Mohan Prasad (India); Jackie Lim (Australia); Emils Pulmanis (Latvia); Ali Mehdi Alinia (Iran); and Sachlani PMP (Indonesia).

Statements offered by some of the winners included:  “I am ecstatic that I have won this book. I launched my Project Management career a year ago after working as an Architect and completing a project management degree. A book written by a veteran Project Manager such as this will definitely go a long way pointing me to the right direction in my career as most projects fail to achieve their goals. Thank you to PMForum for this book and for being the number one project management resource centre.”

“It’s my pride that I am one of the Winners again in PMForum’s PM GiveAways™ program. This winning means to me actually that I am a lucky man because I am winner in PMForum’s drawings twice. PMForum has taught me to respond to any opportunity around the world.”

Currently I am fully into the project management field for last 7 years. And also often a guest of PMForum webpages. As we know the project management field is growing rapidly in the last few years, so all my professional and educational background is related to this field. Currently I am PM program doctoral student and also member of the board of Project Managers Professional Alliance in Latvia. Involved in the enhancement of  project managers professional recognition in Latvia.  There is lack of quality project management publications in Latvia and usually I buy them from the foreign sellers. As I am interested in the new scopes and new project management problem solving methods, this book could be a good tool to improve skills and knowledge. I have always looked at those contests, but never taken part because I thought that I will never win, but it happens and I am thankful for this opportunity.”

“Wow! Thanks.  I believe this is a very valuable book to win since I tend to be a project rescuer or mentor of project managers whose projects are in trouble. I look forward to studying this book and making the skills my own.  Thanks again!”

“Winning this book shows PMForum’s continued commitment to assist in advancing the project management discipline, and equipping practitioners across the globe.  Personally, winning this particular title is so apt given the fact that, as a project management practitioner, I have, and may again, have to deal with the reality of rescuing a troubled project/s.  A structured, documented approach of doing so would be wonderful to peruse and apply!”

“My interest in project management goes beyond my interest in the methodology. I am currently working in a technology development institution in México and implementing it in all the projects we have. In this tortuous beginning many projects appear to be in trouble. This book may help in visualizing the opening of some solutions.”

This book provides a fail-safe recovery plan for turning around troubled projects. According to the book’s cover, “When budgets are dwindling, deadlines passing, and tempers flaring, the usual response is to browbeat the project team and point fingers of blame. Not helpful. For these situations, what is needed is an objective process for accurately assessing what is wrong and a clear plan of action for fixing the problem.”

Rescue the Problem Project provides project managers, executives, and customers with answers. Turnaround specialist Todd Williams has worked with dozens of companies in multiple industries resuscitating failing projects.  Many books explain how to run a project; this one shows how to identify problems and bring them back from the brink of disaster, as well as how to prevent them from occurring in the first place. And with 65% of projects failing to meet goals and 25% cancelled outright, that’s essential information!”
