Charity Skeeball Tournament Rolls Into The Nations Capital

Area Adults Roll For A Good Cause In A Charity Fundraiser For Cystic Fibrosis

Sept. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Remember Skeeball, you know, that childhood game at Chucky-Cheese where you roll balls down a lane into numbered curcles in hopes of getting a high score? Play enough games, get enough points and you could be able to get those coveted Prize tickets you trade in for a dinosaur eraser or bouncy ball! It was a game every kid loved to play but was really in it for the tickets and prizes. Well, that game is all grown up now and is becoming the talk of the town as DC’s popular adult social sport with United Social Sports hosting leagues all over the city! You may have heard of their leagues before but the goal in their newest fund raiser is to have fun and raise awareness and money for a good cause (Cystic Fibrosis) with some friendly competition and some amazing raffle prizes!

There are many charity events out there these days but none of them bring back the fond memories of childhood like this one.  With groups like United Social Sports reintroducing this childhood boardwalk game, it’s more organized and social than ever. United Social Sports is adding this great event to their fall lineup to benefit Cystic Fibrosis on September 22nd.

This will be the First Charity Skeeball Tournament that United Social Sports has hosted inside the District but the second one they have put on in the area. They say they’re doing it not because of the memories it brings back but because it is for a great cause. “I play in the league which is so much fun, and with an entry fee of ONLY $10 I couldn't turn down a tournament for charity” Says Brian Frost a player of United Social Sports about the last Charity Skeeball Tournament. “It’s great because the event brings people together and helps raise awareness and money for a great cause” Says Robert Albrecht founder of United Social Sports.

No self respecting adult tournament could exist without prizes and United Social Sports does not disappoint there either. Liz from one of the USS leagues told us “I couldn’t believe how many people showed up last time and how much money they raised, there was even a cash prize!  Tighe, another USS player told us about the last Charity Tournament they had.  “It was Awesome.  So many people came together for a good cause, there were drink specials, raffles, someone even won a Netbook in their Charity raffle drawling! I couldn’t believe it!”

It seems that everyone involved in these Charity Tournaments has a great time and that United Social Sports must be doing something right. “Our leagues have grown to over 10K players since we started about two years ago so we really wanted to use what we have accomplished for a good cause.” Remarks Robert. “If we can make it a big success again it would be a great contribution to the Cystic Fibrosis foundation” Robert continues.
