Solutions for the perfect wet shav

Sept. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- It is known that most men are wet shavers. But although a wet shave is often favoured to a dry shave, cuts, skin irritation, pimples and redness on the skin occur.
Instead of feeling babysoft, the skin is irritated and aches. What could the reasons be and how can these side effects be prohibited?

When shaving, micro-injuries occur on the skin. Because our skin is most flexible in the morning, the risk of cutting the skin is significantly reduced. Therefore, it is advisable to shave mornings. Dull blades make it difficult to shave and cause skin irritations. The blade should be replaced when first signs of abrasion occur.

Before shaving, the skin should be free of fat. Therefore, the face should firstly be washed for 3 min. with warm water. Thus, the pores open and the face can be cleaned. Now a suitable shaving gel has to be applied. Those who have a delicate skin should use a colour- and odourless agent.

To avoid skin irritation, it is advisable to shave carefully in the direction of hair growth. Ideally, the shaving blade is repeatedly rinsed with lukewarm water to remove deposits on the blade.

After shaving it is a good advise to wash the face with cold water and to dab afterwards. The pores which were opened are now being closed. A quick regeneration of the skin is possible. Now it comes to the after-shave care: This is especially important as the skin needs to compensate its dryness which is the result of washing.
