Representing the “Life Giving Sword” by its very title, Katsujinken introduces innovative themes where industry highlights are set against rich imagery. Readers benefit from well-balanced exchanges between modernism, historical perspective, and expert wisdom through featured silhouettes. Dojo reviews are combined with sensei messages and useful hotlinks. Training webinars are shared through entertaining videographies with leading-edge instructional pointers. Event schedules are listed both pre- and post-event for competitions and training. Additionally, member anecdotes and stories are shared. The magazine provides well-seasoned multiculturalism with traveler highlights for international practitioner and product reviews deliver an added bonus. Katsujinken Magazine's Editor-in-Chief, Jason L.A. Hatcher shares, "For some time I’ve mulled over the idea of creating Katsujinken Magazine to aid the sword arts community with educational resources, information, and industry highlights. Many of the art forms practiced by mixed edge weaponry enthusiasts are by their very nature obscure. Previous to Katsujinken, a magazine such as this has not been in existence, especially in the United States. And, Katsujinken extends to national and international readers as well. Sword Arts are undergoing dramatic growth on an international scale, with an exponentially increasing member base in the United States. Recognizing all practitioners, Katsujinken as an artisan publication, presents both Eastern and Western Sword Arts with associative media - this is a magazine long overdue. As an American-based publication, Katsujinken represents multi-ethnic and multi-cultural articles and themes. Affiliated countries where strong sword art - edged weaponry components exist include Australia, France, Germany, Japan, and Serbia to name just a few. But at Katsujinken, we do not stop there, because we intend to feature "all" age old sword traditions currently under reconstruction in the modern-era. Therefore, JLA Designs, in consortium with dpInk: DonnaInk Publications, is pleased to announce the premiere Katsujinken Magazine release date of November 2011." Each edition of Katsujinken Magazine presents unique themes and silhouettes derived from international and national artisans participants. Copies are available in print and digital format. Portability is being provided for eReaders such as Kindle, Kobo, Libre, Nook, Sony, and etc.; especially devices with high-end graphics capabilities.
