Sept. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Self-defense will likely soon become a national issue and the American people will be divided by a topic which seems controversial. One nationally known second amendment author has taken the controversy out of the idea by relating it to moral purpose and public safety.

Author and columnist John Longenecker has elaborated on his own original concept he calls The CPR Corollary. It is the comparison of how the armed citizen is as vital to a community as a CPR-trained citizenry is, and he shows it fifteen different ways.

The concept of the CPR Corollary is attracting attention due to anticipated civil disturbance, isolation of citizens from their first responders and supplies, and an increasing interest in general preparedness models.

Longenecker has guested on KABC Talkradio, various preparedness talkradio programs, and has written recent national articles on the importance of the armed citizen as elemental to a serious-minded preparedness plan.

Since 1978, John has developed his concept of an identity of values in both the criminal violence emergency and the medical emergency. He has seen both. "In the middle-seventies, I saw my share of gun shot wounds," says Longenecker, a former Los Angeles Paramedic, "I wondered why we weren't seeing self-defense shootings in equal numbers, or even close." This small puzzle developed into a liberty and community interest concept Longenecker uses as a teaching tool for laymen who want to learn more about the role of the armed citizen in the 21st century.

For example, Longenecker explains that victims of violence have their own medical 'Golden Hour' of trauma; violence also has its own criminal window of optimal opportunity for the victim's best self-defense outcomes. Like CPR saves a life by immediate action in the absence of EMS, so the armed citizen saves a life in the absence of Police.

Longenecker has asked liberty photographer and illustrator Oleg Volk to help him create a poster illustrating his concept, 'Your two hands can save a life."

John has mentioned his concept in his various paperback and hardcover liberty books, and now elaborates it fully in its own booklet, 'The CPR Corollary' now in digital format publisher-direct.
