Hollywood-Nashville-New York (September 11, 2011) Billboard Publicity Wire -  Today marks ten years since the attack on American soil which saw the lives of some 3000 Americans taken in the worst attack in American history on the United States.  There is one brave patriot in Oklahoma whose music has been instrumental in the journey of healing taking place in our country.  That music star is Tobi Gordon.  Thousands of artists and musicians were considered for a special music release on 9/11 and only a total of 20 artists were recognized on the tenth anniversary for their contribution musically to today’s events.  Mrs. Gordon is one of those artists.

Tobi Gordon’s single “Let’s Sing America” was chosen to be released today on the 9/11 tenth anniversary to some 2800 radio stations and then worldwide to another 1800 radio stations for patriotic airplay that will last for generations.  Gordon’s music brand which focuses on family, faith and freedom has had the unique position of being in the national charts now for over 57 weeks running.  Her first single record, “Grandma’s Love Recipe” carved out a place for this beautiful Oklahoma artist and has been followed by her second nationally charted record, “Somebody Down Here Loves Me.”

Today, her patriotic release for the 9/11 families is time stamped and shipped to radio to help with the completion of fund raising for the Shanksville, Pennsylvania memorial of Flight 93 on which those famous words were spoken, “Let’s roll.”  President & Mrs Clinton joined President & Mrs. George Bush Saturday in opening the first phase of the Flight 93 memorial.  Thousands attended the opening ceremonies in Pennsylvania on Saturday which featured the clergy and prayers were given and allowed at those services.

Former President George & Laura Bush started the day by placing a wreath at the Pentagon in Washington DC and then made personal appearances at the memorial services in Shanksville, PA where 40 passengers lost their lives on United Flight 93.  These heroes took the plane over and kept the terrorists from crashing it into the White House.  The flight was only 20 minutes away from either hitting the Capitol building or the White House.  All the passengers perished on that fateful day.

While Mayor Bloomberg in New York has refused to allow any religious observance at the ceremony today at ground zero and kept firefighters, police and clergy from the memorial there, the services in Shanksville allowed spiritual prayers and the clergy to attend those services and offer praise for the families of 9/11.  The only spiritual memories today at ground zero will be music from patriotic singers and songwriters like Alan Jackson, Lee Greenwood, Randy Travis, Tobi Gordon and Sarah McLachlan.

These artists have spent their time, money and energy in the rebuilding and healing process.   We all know that music is a healer of the soul and Mrs. Gordon has been instrumental in that process.  It has taken 10 years just to get the first phase of the Flight 93 memorial completed.  Former Presidents Clinton &  Bush vowed Saturday to raise the next $10 million dollars in donations to complete the second phase that will honor the Flight 93 heroes  This press release contains the “official” place where your contributions can help build Phase II of the Flight 93 memorial and you may also purchase Mrs. Gordon’s music.

One national radio programmer at ABC Radio in New York has called the deeply patriotic album by Tobi Gordon, "the best healing CD I have ever heard" since the nation went through 9/11.  The songs on this album which were written by some of the most famous songwriters in musical history contain cuts from Bill & Gloria Gaither, Tom Shapiro (BMI songwriter of the year) and a long list of big Nashville writers who are in the Hall Of Fame.  Recorded with the Warner Brothers string section, using some string individual players from the Nashville symphony, a full horn section and some of the greatest session musicians in Music City, the album is so different from anything else out there, the critics are praising Mrs. Gordon for her integrity and passionate vocals that just reinforce your belief in American values and the American family.
