How to Investigate Your Date Workshops Empower Daters with Knowledge

InvestiDate: How to Investigate Your Date empowers daters with realistic, not prudish, advice. No one’s discouraging anybody from a night on the prowl, true love, or a free meal; we’re just teaching men and women to smarten up about it.

Sept. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- How much do you really know about your date? Sure, he says he went to Penn State but did he? Did he mean Penn State the penitentiary or the university? Presuming the latter, he’ll know all about their mascot, the Nittany Lions, right? In this day and age of speed dating, random meetings, and online hookups, a girl and a guy can never be too sure; unless, of course, they take matters into her own hands—or at the very least, their fingertips. That’s where InvestiDate comes in with workshops on how to investigate your date. You see, the library, county clerk’s office and Internet are full of speed bumps for the lying, cheating, con artists and even convicts of the world.

There are 96 million people in the United States who are unattached, which means for every 100 single women, there are 88 unmarried men, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The Online dating industry is booming and now worth $4 billion worldwide (up from $40-million ten years ago in 2001). Four-million Americans spent over a billion dollars looking for hookups/dates in the US in 2010, according to OnlineDatingInsider.com. Another 30 million tried free online dating sites or created a free profile on a subscription site. Literally all of those questioned said they wish they could have known more about their date before hooking up with them.

In fact, dating has never been more dangerous or more plentiful. The Better Business Bureau said they received 2,660 complaints about dating services alone in 2009, up from 824 in 2005 and a mere 126 in 2004. Twenty-percent of online daters admit to deception, according to a combined research study from Boston University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; respondents also said that 90 percent of other people lied. With free dating sites, it is estimated that at least 10 percent of new accounts created each day are from scammers, PC World back in 2009 when it studied matching algorithms of attraction and the business models behind some of the more popular online dating sites.

InvestiDate: How to Investigate Your Date empowers daters with realistic, not prudish, advice. No one’s discouraging anybody from a night on the prowl, true love, or a free meal; we’re just teaching men and women to smarten up about it.

InvestiDate teaches daters of all ages to create a private electronic “date-a-base,” how to check criminal, property and marriage records, where to submit photos for celebrity-like body language assessments, how to perform an audio polygraph test, how to know if you’re really dating a soldier or someone in an outdated Halloween costume.

Formerly a full-time journalist, her career includes the Associated Press, Gannett, AOL, Disney, ABC, CBS, NBC, NY-1, and WKDM-AM radio, where she hosted a Spanish-language talk show called Dos Latinas Hablando.

She is also a know-it-all big sister and keeps reference librarians on speed dial (just in case).
