Travel Agent Rate for Groups

ESTES PARK, Colo.-YMCA of the Rockies’ Colorado conference centers extend a 10 percent commission on group packages to ARC-listed travel agents and meeting planners. Included in group packages are accommodations, meals, use of meeting spaces (subject to availability), complimentary use of recreational facilities such as indoor pool, tennis courts, activity centers, and current programs.

YMCA of the Rockies operates two conference center properties just outside Rocky Mountain National Park. The 870 acre Estes Park Center has a high energy atmosphere in one of the country’s top small towns. On the opposite end of the national park in Granby is Snow Mountain Ranch, an expansive 5,100 acre property. Snow Mountain Ranch is intended as a peaceful escape from stressful technology-heavy environments.

Depending on the size of the group, a variety of accommodation options are available. On both properties hotel-style lodges can accommodate groups in private rooms while large multi-bedroom cabins offer a family-style atmosphere. Cabins include fully equipped kitchens while guests staying in lodge rooms can enjoy nutritious meals in the dining commons. The newest lodges at Estes Park Center were completed and LEED certified in 2010. For a rustic retreat, Snow Mountain Ranch has a recently expanded yurt village in addition to traditional campgrounds with R.V. sites.

After confirming availability of meeting spaces, groups can choose room layouts, rent additional equipment such as stages, podiums, couches, and audio visual equipment, and pick catered refreshments. Traditional fare such as coffee, box lunches, and continental breakfast can be brought in, or for a more festive atmosphere there are ice cream socials, summer cookouts, and healthy snacks.

Special activities including orientations and ice breakers, guided snowshoe hikes, guided night walks, campfire circles, horseback rides, and team building on challenge courses can be scheduled. For groups that bring along family members a family fun night can be organized as well as daytime activities at the craft and design center, family programs, fishing, day camp, an outdoor climbing wall and zip line. Chaplains can be made available for on-site worship and customizable spiritual programs such as memorial services, devotions, and group bible study.

To receive commission, ARC-listed travel agent or meeting planner must be the point of contact through the booking to check out process. This includes reporting number, room rosters, meeting room set up and planning programming.

YMCA of the Rockies opened its first location in the early 1900s as a summer training center. Today its properties total nearly 6,000 acres and are used by groups, families, individuals, and summer campers. Groups of all sizes and themes from corporate conferences to youth groups to meditative workshops to family reunions utilize the programs, facilities, activities, and friendly staff at the Estes Park Center and Snow Mountain Ranch.
