Masters Series for Legal Professionals Announces Former Chief Magistrate Judge Larson as Keynote

Sept. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Masters Conference, an advanced legal educational experience, today announces that Hon. James Larson (Ret.) will deliver the keynote address for its Masters Series for Legal Professionals event which will be held September 14, 2011, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., followed by a happy hour until 7:00 p.m. at the University Club in San Francisco. The event, entitled “Strategies for Spanning the E-Discovery Divide” will feature speakers from across the industry and will focus on e-discovery best practices, corporate data security, social media, international discovery, and e-discovery related to IP litigation.

Judge Larson was a Federal District Court Magistrate Judge for 14 years and was Chief Magistrate Judge of the Northern District of California from 2005-2010.  On the bench, he oversaw more than 1,500 mediations and settlement conferences in all types of federal civil cases, including intellectual property, complex business and contract disputes, civil rights matters, employment cases, wage and hour class actions, ERISA, personal injury and tort actions, other class actions, maritime cases, and environmental cases.  In addition, he oversaw more than 1,000 other cases that were adjudicated through disposition, and he handled hundreds of referrals for discovery and other proceedings. He currently is a neutral with JAMS in San Francisco.
