-- Melodic metal guitar wizard, Xander Demos returns to the top of the Myspace Progressive music video chart for the second consecutive time with his new video release, "Chase The Sun." Released on Tuesday, the video has already climbed past notable artists like Muse and Opeth to land in the #1 position. In addition, the video is #2 Metal and #6 on the Rock chart. Could a #1 Overall Metal ranking be far behind?
"Chase The Sun" is the follow up video to Xander's debut, "Right Angles," which topped both the Metal and Progressive charts for several weeks over the summer. In contrast to "Right Angles," which was a performance/
studio video, "Chase The Sun" is a photo and artwork montage that allows the listener to focus more on the music and less on the visual. "I am not surprised that Xander is on top again. Once you get a taste of his playing...the technicality of the sweeps and shredding blended with some beautifully played melodic sections...you can't help but want to hear more. Obviously, I'm not the only one that is impressed," says Michael Stover of MTS Management, Xander's publicity firm.
The timing of the chart-toppers could not be more perfect, as Xander prepares for some high-profile opening act slots this month. On September 23rd, he will open for fellow guitar master, Neil Zaza in Geneva, OH. Later that week, on September 27th, Xander will be part of a bill headlined by Dio Disciples featuring Tim "Ripper" Owens, in Pittsburgh, PA. Both shows are sure to sell out fast.
