QMI Solutions is hosting a two day event to demonstrate the latest innovations in food processing from some of Australia’s leading organisations.
Sept. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- QMI Solutions is hosting a two day event to demonstrate the latest innovations in food processing from some of Australia’s leading organisations.

Taking place on 21/22 September at the Technology Demonstration Centre on Brisbane Technology Park, this inaugural Centre event will provide the opportunity to see and hear about some of the latest innovations in the sector.

Compliance, competition and labour challenges are key challenges for the Queensland food processing industry - making it vital for local manufacturers to remain competitive through the adoption of new processes and techniques.
           
This event aims to assist in this need through the presentation of a range of technology demonstrations and case studies from some of Australia’s leading organisations in the provision of innovative solutions to the food industry on day one.

Moreover, on day two an ‘open house’ will allow attendees to discuss their specific requirements technology providers and bring along relevant samples for discussion.

Technologies covered over the two days will include:
- High speed handling
- Product quality and grading through vision
- Rapid inspection and analysis
- Robotics in food processing
- Smart materials handling
- Advanced labelling and data collection
- Automated processing

QMI Solutions CEO, Jim Walker, said that the event aims to support the Queensland food processing industry in maximising its opportunities and addressing its challenges:  

“The industry is under increasing cost pressures due to compliance requirements, labour shortages and competition from imports. These factors make it vital for local manufacturers to remain at the forefront of new technologies.

Our aim for this event is for it to be a resource for identifying, demonstrating, implementing and sharing new and innovative ways of processing food so the industry is better placed to take advantage of the opportunities and address the challenges head on”.

The Technology Demonstration Centre, supported by the Queensland Government, showcases a range of innovative technologies to Queensland businesses, interstate and international visitors and hosts a range industry focused full and half day workshops.
