Kimberly J Coleman's novel, Just Sippy, wins 2011 Readers Favorite Award!

Kimberly J. Coleman isn't a big time New York author. She doesn't have credentials that scream ivory league schools or a list of contributions that could bridge the continents. No, she is your neighbor, your friend- a working, single mother, who hates paying the utility bill. She is just like everybody you know, except she wrote a book.
What does she hope this book will do for her? We asked her that in a phone interview.
"It's not about me. I'm not looking for anything. I didn't write this book to be rich or famous. I wrote it because I had to. I had to get the story out of my head so people could read it. They needed to meet Sippy and Jilly. Sippy needed to meet them. She had to tell a story. That is all. I just helped Sippy get the story on paper and now I just want people to read it. For Sippy. And for Jilly. If it helps me pay the bills, well that's just a perk."
When asked about the award, she stated she was thrilled that the story has been honored in that way. "I can't believe it, really. It's like a dream that I am sure to wake from soon," pausing to giggle a bit, " Sippy is ecstatic too!"
So, what's next for this author and her novel? They are enjoying the success this award is bringing and awaiting news on other nominations that should come to light in late fall and winter and as Kimberly states, "just looking forward to fall and spending holidays with my family. If Ellen calls, I will take some time off work to go, I suppose." and she laughs and adds, "just kidding...I'm not that good."
Her publisher disagrees and admits they have sent The Ellen Show several copies of the book and will continue to do so. They think she is THAT GOOD!
