This Labor Day Discount Cab Offers “Free Ride Back” For Valley Residents
Program promotes road safety by giving passengers a safe, free ride back to their cars the next day
Labor Day weekend is known for parties, so much so that 5,000 additional police officers worked last year to try to curb problems. Last year, over a 20-day period from Aug. 20 through Labor Day, officers in Arizona arrested 1,554 people for drunk driving.
With Discount Cab, partiers also do not need to worry about getting into a car with a dangerous stranger. Although the state only recently began to require cab drivers to pass background checks, performing background checks has been a Discount Cab policy for years. Discount Cab remains the leader in driver standards, with drivers having to pass federal and state background checks, a drug test and a sex offender check.
“I’m proud of our record with regards to driver standards,” said Craig Hughes, CEO of Total Transit, Inc., parent company of Discount Cab. “I’m especially thrilled to know that due to our standards, we’re able to provide responsible Arizonans a truly safe alternative means of transportation during these busy holiday weekends.”
Phoenix and Tucson residents wishing to take advantage of the program can call 602-200-2000 in Phoenix or 520-388-9000 in Tucson. The offer applies to patrons of any local bar or restaurant, and Discount Cab offers the “Free Ride Back” service year-round, not just on holidays.
