Sept. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- For 2012, the E85 ethanol capability is now available for the 2.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine. Also, a touch-screen CD stereo is now standard on all models. The touch-screen CD stereo features a GMC IntelliLink that enables smartphone integration and the ability to stream music from Pandora or other music sources. The stereo’s screen now offers the standard backup camera’s image. A lane departure and forward-collision warning system is optional.

The Terrain is designed with a four-wheel-independent suspension and car-based frame that emphasizes ride comfort, fuel efficiency over off-road capabilities as well as towing.

The 2012 GMC Terrain comes with two engine choices: a four-cylinder and a V-6 engine. Both engines use direct-injection technology. Activated by a dashboard button, the Eco Mode is created to maximize fuel efficiency by altering drivetrain calibrations in the four-cylinder.

The 2.4 liter engine produces impressive horsepower of 182 and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The V-6 engine produces 264-horespower.

Interior features of the 2012 Terrain come with standard keyless entry, power height adjustment for the driver’s seat and a six speaker stereo with a USB port for MP3 players.

Features such as eight-way power driver’s seat and heated leather upholstery, moonroof, and navigation system are optional.

Standard safety features include side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags for both rows, four-wheel-disc antilock brakes, traction control, and electronic stability system.
