Sept. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Atlanta, GA, August 31, 2011 -- Beyond The Game (BTG) is hosting its first annual “Concert for a Cause” benefit event on Thursday, September 8th, 7 PM at The Fernbank Museum of Natural History in Atlanta, Georgia.  Presented by Dallas Mavericks Guard Jason Terry and BTG founder Chanita Foster, “Concert for a Cause” will bring together supporters, celebrities, and athletes for a moving evening of music and inspiration hosted by author and co-host of the Steve Harvey Morning Show Shirley Strawberry and actress Terri Vaughn.

Guests attending the unforgettable evening will enjoy performances by Q Parker (formerly of group 112), Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Nicci Gilbert, independent gospel recording artist Isaac Carree, and singer/songwriter Case. Special celebrity guests scheduled to appear are Neyo,  Reggie Evans, Marquis Daniels, Michael Finley, Josh Powell, Josh Howard, Lisa Wu, R.L., Charles Grant,  J. Holiday, Kandi Burruss, Jazzy Phe, D.Woods, Crystal Nicole, Dawn Nufield, Karen Riley, Nivea, Sean Garrett, Comedian Griff and many more.

Proceeds raised from Beyond The Game Foundation’s “Concert for a Cause” will benefit the scheduled “No Excuses” life-saving mission trip to Swaziland, Africa on September 25th, 2011. A place of great need, Swaziland is one of two small countries within the land mass of South Africa with a population of 950,000 people. If AIDS statistics do not positively change, the country will cease to exist by 2050.

Led by Beyond The Game Foundation, founder Chanita Foster and an extraordinary list of talented and successful women who include Nicci Gilbert-Daniels, Sharlinda Parker, Sabrina Rowe, LaTresa “TREE” Cunningham, Pennae Lewis, Deanna Hamilton, Teri Vaughn-Riley, Brandi Hunter, Yolanda Smith, LaTasha Batch and Monyetta Shaw, the “No Excuses” mission trip is expected to generate more awareness, donations and resources for the people Swaziland.

A few major statistics about Swaziland:
•   The average life expectancy is 28.7 years
•   70% of children will be HIV positive by the time they are age 15
•   Overall HIV infection rate has increased by 44.6%
•   56% of school age children are not in school because they cannot afford
school fees (school is very inexpensive)
•   There are 120,000 orphans - 12.6% of the population
•   Unemployment rate is 60%

Beyond The Game is a 501(c)(3) organization created to assist the widows and orphans of Swaziland, Africa. The country is the size of New Jersey and still is one of the few countries run by a King. Swaziland has 950,000 people and there are 120,000 orphans! The AIDS rate is alarming and it is a fact that 70% of the children will be HIV positive by the age of 15. It has also been calculated that if something drastic does not happen to change what is going on, there would be no more Swaziland in 40 years!

About Chanita Foster, Founder/Director
Chanita Foster is a native of Oak Park, Michigan. A firm believer in education, she owns  
degrees in Communications, Sports Management, and Photography. She also has a heart for a number of causes, mainly the orphans and widows of Swaziland, Africa, for whom she founded the Beyond The Game Foundation.  

In addition to her philanthropic endeavors, she is also a passionate entrepreneur. She is the owner of Wife Material Custom Jerseys, Rock Star Publishing, Divine Diva Photography, Rock Star Rascals and Urban Christian RockStar Properties LLC.

The energetic mother of six is also an athlete. When she is not busy with family and business, she loves to take part in a local competitive volleyball league where she resides. She also enjoys traveling to play with the Atlanta Boom Women’s team. She still remains in the record book for volleyball at Chicago State University. As the wife of NFL veteran, George Foster, she is an active member of Off The Field; the NFL player wives association.
