Sept. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- VOIPFUTURE, the leading provider of RTP monitoring solutions, today announced the availability of its new unrivaled call correlation mechanism.
The VOIPFUTURE call correlation process matches VoIP signaling sessions with the media streams belonging to the session and essentially attaches a subscriber ID to call quality. The patent pending correlation mechanism matches multiple media streams including those from early media, like ring tones or tariff announcements, codec changes and network address translation (NAT) impaired sources to the correct signaling session.
The resulting xDRs contain unmitigated information on the call quality on a per direction basis with a 5 second granularity with full subscriber details - unrivaled in the VoIP monitoring/voice assurance market.
“The correlation engine is designed to work in decomposed environments such as IMS and LTE where network equipment may be spread across multiple geographical locations.” stated Michael Krueger, Head of Research and Development of VOIPFUTURE. He added “With our updated solution you are able to monitor, document and evaluate VoIP calls on a new level.”
The challenge of any voice quality SLA is to match voice media quality with phone numbers. Phone numbers, subscriber IDs, routes, destination etc. are the common data for service contracts. As voice media is transported independent from the signaling data, these data is not easily available but crucial. Dr. Michael Wallbaum, Director of Product Marketing at VOIPFUTURE said “Service providers can now implement and enforce media quality service level agreements based on signaling information like SIP trunks, customers or numbering plan entries.”

About the VOIPFUTURE Technology
The VOIPFUTURE system is designed to monitor the quality of voice services in IP networks. It consists of passive RTP monitoring probes and a management platform. The probes are typically deployed at network borders and connected to up to four links in a non-intrusive manner. The probes analyze all RTP streams in real-time and provide over 400 dedicated voice metrics for each 5 second segment of each stream. The analysis is based on a unique combination of packet flow analysis and deep packet inspection, which allows determining root causes and diagnostics data. All data is stored in VOIPFUTURE quality data records (QDR) and retrieved by the management platform, which post-processes the information and offers a graphical interface to the users.
The detailed QDR information provides the foundation for the integrated voice quality evaluation and troubleshooting technology. Applications of the VOIPFUTURE system include network performance and VoIP customer experience monitoring. The VOIPFUTURE solution enables communication service providers (CSPs) to detect and correlate impairments originating from network equipment or end user devices, providing a complete view of each call. This enables CSPs to offer premium voice services as well as to meet stringent voice SLAs and document their performance.
The carrier-grade solution offers leading real time analysis performance, with up to 80,000 simultaneously monitored calls per probe on up to four links. One Gigabit links can be monitored at full line rate; monitoring of 10 Gbit/s interfaces is also supported. The centralized management platform controls all probes and is capable of processing hundreds of millions of call minutes per day. Still, the VOIPFUTURE solution is cost-effective as it makes efficient use of standard servers with multi-CPU and multi-core architecture.
