Sept. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Noshin Tabassum, a 7th grade student at Stonewall Middle School in Manassas, Va., and Zachary Irons, an 8th grade student at Christ the Teacher School in Newark, DE,  have won $5,000 scholarships in BrainstormUSA's "Dare to Dream....Expect to Succeed" national scholarship program, administered by Citizen's Scholarship Foundation of America, for Q1 and Q2 2011. Noshin, who submitted a model project of the steps to becoming a theoretical physicist, dreams of winning a Nobel Peace Prize for his contributions to the field.  He dreams of working at the Fermilab in Chicago when he is an adult. He said, "Physics has always been my passion and Theoretical Physics starts with an idea or a theory that later can be proven using imagination, determination and logic."

Zachary Irons, who submitted a poster/book, said he wants to become a mythologist, where he studies and learns about myths and religions of ancient civilization. He enjoys studying Greek mythology and gods such as Zeus, as well as Egyptian mythology, such as Ra, God of the Sun. The schools and the respective teachers will also receive a preloaded BrainstormUSA Desktop computer, which includes an Intel Integrated Atom Processor with 1GB DDR/2 memory, 160GB 7200 RPM hard drive, among other things, and a 19" LCD Widescreen monitor with integrated speakers and a three-year warranty.

The "Dare to Dream -- Expect to Succeed" program, which grew out of President & CEO Joe Galluccio's passion to help students maximize their abilities through a solid education, shows children the value of visualizing their dreams, setting goals, sharing their hopes, and having the self-confidence to communicate their vision. The program provides benefits to the school, classroom, and individual students through the scholarship program, and the donation of personal computers and educational software. Students were asked to communicate a personal dream and how they expect to reach their dream. Parents were asked to describe how they would enable their child's efforts and support those efforts in realizing their unique dream. Students and parents were encouraged to use any medium of their choice to creatively present their vision.

BrainstormUSA awarded personal computers and software to six students: For Q1, Riosin Liew, Lauren Cook and Atharra Chandrakant Sontakke and for Q2, Faith Dowling, Alana Bradley and Elizabeth Millard. Our runners-up, wining a software bundle, are Nabeeha Ahmad, Jacob Yeskis, Noble Chevalier, Teresa Lieselte Chin and Eliea Mitchell-Butler for Q1. Yadara Arroyo, Tajnenal Adams, Berenice Gomez and Lindsey Petrits for Q2.

Congratulations to all the winners and entrants in our "Dare to Dream...Expect to Succeed" scholarship program. Keep those entries coming!
