Corns on Feet Given No Place to Hide Following Cornsonfeet.net Release

This month sees the launch of a brand new website offering the layman help and advice on the common causes, symptoms and treatments for callused skin and corns on feet.

Sept. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- The timing of the latest health and wellness website release is perhaps well calculated. As September starts many people have clocked up a good two months of flip-flops hours underfoot, with flimsily summer sandals offering little in the way of cushioning and protection.  Summer blisters on the feet have made way for hardened skin and cracked heels, and foot health is often found lacking.

“What often starts with beautiful spring feet rapidly deteriorates over the summer thanks to the salt of the sea, burning by sun and scorching sand, and the usual damage to the toes and instep from wearing cheap summer sandals” says Jennifer Lee, creator of Cornsonfeet.net

Cornsonfeet.net has been released as the nations feet are in their greatest hour of need, and the feet are desperate for tender loving care. The new website offers helpful tips on home treatment of foot corns, foot calluses and dry cracked heels. For many people, getting rid of hard skin on the feet is simply a matter of a little filing with a calloused skin file. But some people can really suffer from hard skin and severe calluses.

The area of callus can be far more extensive and requires more specialist treatment, being far more difficult to file down.  Sufferers of corns on the feet, both hard foot corns and the soft cons found in between the toes, often remove hard dead skin only to find that it just reappears a few weeks later.  “As part of offering help and tips on removal of calluses and corns on the feet, I wanted to help educate on the reasons behind these foot ailments. Without identifying the underlying cause which is causing the excess pressure, treatment for corns on feet will be required every few months” says Lee

Prevention of the formation of hard skin on the feet means reducing the pressure, abrasion and skin on skin contact, as it is rubbing and friction which causes the hardening of the skin. Callus formation is a natural process and is part of the body’s defence to protect against broken skin. In many cases hardened skin is actually an advantage, and its removal unnecessary but sometimes calluses can irritate the underlying tissues causing pain and discomfort.

The new website covers the range of treatment options which can be safely carried out at home, detailing non invasive methods such as pads, chemical treatments for foot corns, and cushioning to ease the pressure on the underlying tissues.

“Many people experience no pain whatsoever from hard skin on their feet, but want to have it removed for cosmetic reasons. Dry cracked heels is one of the most common foot treatments at this time of year, as a full summer takes its toll on the feet and there is still plenty of time to wear open backed shoes.” says Jennifer.

The new website includes information on treatment for dry and cracked skin, with full details on corns on feet and foot calluses now online at: http://www.cornsonfeet.net
