Aug. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- West End Eatery Catering to Vancouver’s Discerning Restaurant-Goers

Vancouver, BC – Laziza Modern Mediterranean has already made a name for itself on the Vancouver restaurant scene. Since opening its doors earlier this year, the buzz has been growing about the classy Davie Street restaurant which serves up fresh and delicious Mediterranean cuisine with a twist. But now there is something else to talk about – Laziza has listened to its’ customers and now has a complete menu of free-range, hormone-free organic meats, sourced locally – as well as a gluten-free selection of fantastic food choices.

Laziza menu items such as the chicken in the Chicken Wrapped Prawns, Maqanik (spicy lamb sausages) and the classic Lamb Shank have their key ingredients brought in from Langley farms where only the freshest, free-range, hormone-free organic products make the cut.

The gluten-free menu items came about because of a real gap in the market when it comes to Vancouverites who find it hard to eat out at restaurants because of special dietary needs.

Laziza owner Hassan Myhoob says: “I’ve had many conversations with customers who really care about the food they get when they eat at restaurants. Many of them are genuinely interested in whether the supplier is reputable, if the food is organic and some of them can’t eat a lot of things on many restaurant menus. We didn’t want our customers to worry about that, so we have made the switch to make sure they are confident what they’re eating is as healthy as it can possibly be.”

About Laziza Modern Mediterranean

Laziza is located at 1175 Davie Street. Owner Hassan Myhoob originally opened a Pita Fresh at the location, but decided on a change of direction. With the help of Vancouver interior designer Wade King (Umberto’s, Delilah’s, the new restaurant at Van Dusen Gardens), transformed the fast food location to a classy, comfortable restaurant that has now become a West End staple.

Menu favourites include the infamous Baba Ghanouj, Crispy Cauliflower, Saffron Chicken Wrapped Prawns, Lamb Shank and the Koshery Egyptian vegetarian dish.

As well as great word-of-mouth recommendations, people have been raving about Laziza online too:

“The Food! Oh my! This is a place you really need to visit.” – Allen S @ Urban Spoon

“One of the best dining options on Davie Street. Highly recommended.” – Christopher B @ Yelp

“Try the cocktail called the Turkish Delight that mixes black pepper vodka and strawberries… If I lived in Vancouver I'd eat here at least once a week.” – Jon @ Urban Spoon

“Big fan of Laziza Restaurant in #Vancouver - if you haven't already, make a visit. Mango Chicken Salad is wonderful.” @DuncanSBX via Twitter

Featuring both local and international favourites, the wine and beer list was specially selected to compliment the variety of Mediterranean flavours. Included in the wine list are a Pinot Gris from Mt Boucherie in BC, a Barbera D’Alba from Batasiolo in Italy, and an Ugni Blanc from Sancet Cote de Gascogne in France, among others. The restaurant also offers an array of intriguing, Mediterranean-themed cocktails, including the Mirage, Aphrodite, and Oasis.
