Christopher Guy Launches Mademoiselle Collection In Paris

Christopher Guy Launches the Highly Anticipated Mademoiselle Collection at the Maison et Objet Fall 2011 Furniture Exhibition in Paris.

Aug. 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Imagine the spectacular style of a 1920s Parisian grand apartment, furnished with the personal panache of one of the graceful, elegant woman who represented the very first generation of ‘urban chic.’

The vision is being brought to life with contemporary new twists at Maison et Objet in Paris by Christopher Guy, “The Creators of the World’s Most Fabulous Furnishings.”

The world debut of the “Mademoiselle Collection” represents a ground-breaking new direction for the eponymous designer, whose furniture graces the homes of Hollywood celebrities and luxury hotels and resorts around the globe. The collection consists of furniture and decorative accent pieces reflecting both the elegant Christopher Guy style and sophisticated Parisian chic.

“This full lifestyle collection draws for inspiration on a grand 1920s apartment owned by Mademoiselle, who returns to Paris in the autumn of 2011 to find her residence exquisitely refurbished  in  her  own  distinct  elegant  style”  says  Christopher  Guy  Harrison,  the award-winning internationally renowned designer, founder and CEO of the Christopher Guy brand.

“The introduction of the Mademoiselle Collection marks a pivotal milestone, as the first of my upcoming lifestyle collections, each embracing a defining theme. I aim to create and launch a number of such collections over the next couple of years.”

Adding an exciting new dimension to Christopher Guy’s sixth year of participation in Maison et Objet, the Mademoiselle Collection can be seen from the 9th to the 13th of September 2011 on the red carpet area of Hall 4, Parc des Expositions in Paris Nord Villepinte.

The collection introduces the “Coco” wood finish, rich in dark brown hues with elegant and traditional character, which can be seen on items such as cabinets, tables and chairs throughout the collection.

“Imagine Mademoiselle opening the door to her Vendome arrondissement apartment and walking through each of the six rooms fully furnished in the new Mademoiselle Collection” says Christopher.

“As she walks through ‘L’Entrée’ she passes an exquisitely hand-carved round sofa in white lacquer and upholstered in Riviera Cool Grey. She is then captivated by the elegance and drama of ‘Le Grand Salon,’ with furniture pieces primarily upholstered in neutrals that stand in contrast to the midnight blue backdrop.  An encompassing feeling of elegance and femininity prevails throughout the striking collection.”

The white lacquer chaise covered in Riviera Satin Chestnut takes centre stage in “Le Grand Salon” accompanied by a large oval contoured coffee table in Java Cafe finish, featuring the iconic Christopher Guy signature element, the “Silk-Cut.”

No room is complete without a Christopher Guy jewel and a huge spectacular mirror in black satin fills the wall above a buffet. As part of the Mademoiselle Collection a circular dining table and four exquisite dining chairs with the patented Chris-X legs featuring beautifully carved backs in Java Cafe with red Alcantara upholstery add a chic and feminine touch.

One of the hallmark Mademoiselle Collection design elements is the fan motif. It can be seen in the two outstanding lounge chairs in 20th Century Gold covered in cream ribbed silk, as well as six pleated back dining chairs of varying heights that surround a beautiful round dining table. Standing proudly in the impressive “La Salle de Sejour,” is the curvaceous sofa with a ribbed silk trim.

“La Salle de Sejour depicts the grandeur of the rest of the apartment” says Christopher. “Its pastel hues of pale blue, pinks and white upholstery with walls painted in duck egg blue make this a restful retreat for Mademoiselle.”
