Solar Installations Expected to Increase As Glendale Water & Power Solar Solutions Program

Aug. 30, 2011 - PRLog -- GLENDALE, CALIF.--The Glendale City Council's decision earlier this year to reinstate the Glendale Water & Power (GWP) Solar Solutions Business Program means city residents can receive cash rebates on solar installations of 30 kW or less.

   GWP customers who install grid-connected solar photovoltaic systems can receive a $2 per watt rebate. Solar installations on affordable housing can receive $2.50 per watt rebates. The solar rebate program was halted last year in August due to high demand.

   "It's important for anyone interested in the rebates to submit their paper work right away to Glendale Water & Power since funding is limited," says Sevan Varteressian, president of California Green Designs, which has designed and installed commercial and residential solar electronic systems in Glendale since 1985.

   Those who file for a rebate have 180 days to complete their solar projects and turn in the paperwork. "If the final paperwork is not submitted within 180 days, the rebate incentive will expire," notes Varteressian.
