Aug. 29, 2011 - PRLog -- So just what does it take to get Hollywood fabulous? TV crew in tow, Anna gave herself two weeks to shape up and put herself to the ultimate test: a glossy magazine shoot.
'In terms of body image, where America leads, the rest of the world follows. And that includes the obsession with being size zero,' says Anna. 'There is a genuine, positive desire for everybody to look great here. They actually really want to look their best and it is not necessarily a bad thing. A lot of the women I saw - and a lot of the men - are living incredibly healthy lives. They put us to shame.'

You can forgive Anna Richardson for feeling rather pleased with herself. The 38-year-old presenter of Channel 4's Supersize Vs Superskinny has lost an amazing two stone in the past year, now weighs just over 9st and is a petite size ten 'on a good day'.Her skin is glowing, her hair looks expensively glossy and her nails have that perfectly manicured polish. 'I can't help thinking I'm looking pretty hot,' says Anna. And why shouldn't she? She looks fabulous by anyone's standards - well, almost anyone's standards.

The flipside to the Californian dream is a community divided on health lines. Weight is the defining class issue in LA. 'While we were there, we didn't see a single fat person,' says Anna.  'In the end, the series producer and I went hunting for fatties. They have all been ghetto-ised out in South Central LA somewhere. 'There is even a specific club called Bounce. All the fat girls come out at night and meet there. That's where they all are; they are never seen in Beverly Hills. A recent trip to Los Angeles made her think again. Touching down in LA, she soon realised that being 'fabulous' in Hollywood is a different matter altogether. When I asked a number of women on Rodeo Drive if I would fit in here in LA, they all shook their heads and said: "Oh gee, no. You need to lose another 20lb," ' says Anna.
