Aug. 29, 2011 - PRLog -- Elegant Hotels is pleased to announce the launch of The Flying Fish Kids’ Club at their Turtle Beach resort, Barbados, where children can participate in Calypso Dancing, Road Tennis and Steel Pan lessons for an authentic Bajan experience!

Following its recent refurbishment, the kids club welcomes back its young VIP’s this month in time for the summer season.  Welcoming children aged three to twelve throughout the day, there will be a wide range of indoor and outdoor games on offer which fall in to four main categories: Educational, Cultural, Entertainment and Activities.

Open from 9 am until 9 pm, The Flying Fish Club aims to offer children an experience above and beyond that of a standard kid’s club, and will enable little ones to learn about the local environment and culture of Barbados in a safe and welcoming setting. Children will be offered fun history lessons on Barbados, local dialect lessons, Bajan cooking & art classes as well as the chance to learn other very typical Bajan activities.

Children can try their hand at Road Tennis which originated in Barbados in the 1930’s and is played using a bald tennis ball and wooden racket on the back streets; Or how about a game of Wharri? The island’s longest surviving game is a ‘pit and pebble’ strategy game where the person with the most pebbles wins! In addition, there will be a chance for children to learn Calypso dancing and the classic Caribbean Limbo, as well as tours to local museums and the famous sugar mill.

The Flying Fish Kids’ Club will also host a series of more mainstream activities from beach cricket and table tennis to themed parties, karaoke and movie nights complete with popcorn! Teens will also be welcome to make the most of the club with a fully equipped pool table, foosball, Nintendo Wii, internet, TV & DVD player.

An experienced team of babysitters will also be on hand at Turtle Beach Resort to provide families with individualised care.

Turtle Beach is the second of Elegant Hotels to roll out the Flying Fish Kids’ Club following the launch of the concept at Tamarind last November and the all-inclusive Crystal Cove will be following suit this winter.
