Aug. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- The 2nd annual Sonoma County Human Dignity Film Festival will take place on Wednesday,  September 21, 2011 at 6 PM at the Summerfield Cinemas, 551 Summerfield Road in Santa Rosa.  This year the festival focuses on the lives and experiences of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The public is invited to come and celebrate the richness of this vital culture with its own unique language and identity.

The festival will highlight films that explore the many aspects of the Deaf experience and the meaning of communication. The films include "See What I'm Saying?", a documentary by and about deaf people, which won awards at the Newport Beach and Philadelphia Film Festivals, "Where The Sky Ends" the story of a young deaf boy's struggle to find meaning for himself in a hearing world and "The End", which poses the question--what would the world be like without deafness?

There is a suggested donation of $8 admission, but no one will be turned away due to the lack of funds.  Tickets are available at Disability Services & Legal Center. 521 Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa. Ph (707) 528-2745. You can also buy tickets at the event.
