Samuel Music Hosts Singer/Songwriter Carl Tosten for Three Performances

Aug. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Samuel Music Co., a full-service music retailer, is proud to announce that contemporary singer/songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist, Carl Tosten will perform a free concert at each of its three locations. Tosten will appear in Champaign on Sept. 1, Springfield on Sept. 2 and Effingham on Sept. 3.

“We are delighted to have such a talented guitarist as a guest at Samuel Music Company,” said Liz Emmerich, Regional Manager for Samuel Music. “From his technique to his lyrics, Carl is one of the most creative musicians in the industry, so we are particularly pleased to be partnering with him.”

With a strong, soulful voice and an eclectic, expressive guitar technique that includes percussion, tapping, multiple open tunings and capos, Tosten has been nicknamed an “acoustic one-man band.” His live performances are filled with intense energy, stories and songs that captivate and inspire his audiences.

Tosten will be playing original songs and instrumental pieces from his six self-produced solo recordings, including songs from his award-winning CD “American Dream.” His songs are layered with warmth, intelligence, oblique humor and acute observation of human nature.

As a Yamaha traveling clinician, Tosten will also demonstrate Yamaha’s new line of A-Series guitars. The A-Series features increased string spacing and lower action to accommodate today's player preferences, as well as a rounded fretboard edge, slim neck profile, and semi-open pore finish on the necks for playing comfort. Yamaha’s A-Series guitars are available for sale at all Samuel Music locations.
