Aug. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- CORONA, CA (9-24-11) – A Workout for St. Jude event organized by Rhino Fitness will power up on 9-24-11 at 10:00 am at Rhino Fitness, 4300 Green River Road, #114, Corona, CA 92880 to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. St. Jude is the top children’s cancer hospital in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report.

“Every child saved at St. Jude means children saved around the world - a direct result of cutting-edge research and treatment that set the standard in treating deadly childhood diseases,” said Joe Palmieri, coordinator of the event. “Through events like Work Out for St. Jude, Corona supports the St. Jude mission of finding cures and saving children everywhere.”

This volunteer-based “Bench Press for Dollars” will feature participants performing bench presses and receiving pledges based upon the number of repetitions completed. Anyone can get involved, either by participating in the bench press event, or by sponsoring a participant. Sponsors may pledge a certain amount per repetition completed or a lump sum amount. Volunteers are also needed to help coordinate the event and to be sure it runs smoothly. Friends and family of participants and sponsors are urged to participate in any way they feel comfortable.

St. Jude depends on community-based fundraising programs like Workout for St. Jude. At St. Jude, families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance and no child is ever denied treatment because of the family's inability to pay. The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.5 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions.

This Workout for St. Jude event is sponsored by Rhino Fitness – “How Bad Do You Want It?” http://www.meettherhino.com.
