Aug. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Sonya Champion Design proudly announces the opening of their first location in Newburyport, MA.  Sonya has strong experience working on projects ranging from residential landscapes to restoring the historic landscape at the Dalton Club to transforming the railroad bridge over the Merrimac River.  

Sonya lives and works in Newburyport and specializes in residential landscape design for the North Shore of Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.  

Sonya Champion's passion as a landscape designer is finding the ideal balance between her clients lifestyle, the land and the environment.  Her background in art history, fine arts, and work in the museum field helped develop an appreciation for how we communicate with the surrounding landscape.

"I believe my role as a designer is to transform aspirations of the client into a beautiful and inviting space. The design should ultimately compliment and enhance the existing surroundings." Sonya believes that designed landscape can transform our everyday lives, our relationships with nature and each other.

Sonya graduated from Harvard's Landscape Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  Prior to studying at Harvard she received her Bachelors Degree from Bates College in Art History.
