]High Desert Opportunity Announces New Format for Opportunity Theater with Featured Speaker Jon Acuff

Victorville, Calif. – High Desert Opportunity is proud to announce a new format to the highly successful Opportunity Theater program, offering attendees a comprehensive overview for succeeding in business and capitalizing on the opportunities the High Desert has to offer.  The new format includes the addition of featured speaker Jon Acuff, the national best-selling author of Quitter: Closing the Gap Between Your Day Job and Your Dream Job.  

Jon provides a wealth of business experience with Fortune 500 companies such as Home Depot, Chick-fil-A, Bose and Staples, while offering his unique perspective on brand positioning and social media integration in the new multi-media age.  Jon joined the Dave Ramsey team in 2010 to become a full-time author. He has contributed to CNN.com and appeared on Fox and Friends. His blog is followed by more than 2 million people.

The full-day business conference will take place Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds.  The conference includes an expo hall, luncheon and address by Keynote Speaker, Oakland Athletics General Manager Billy Beane and the new Opportunity Theater.  The conference aims to draw “out of the area” business owners, commercial real estate brokers, developers and site locators to the High Desert region.  

The new Opportunity Theater also includes a panel of local business and real estate professionals who will provide insight on the current market, local business opportunities in the High Desert and the business climate going forward.  Opportunity Theater will conclude with a panel of Economic Development Directors from each community and the County of San Bernardino to discuss current projects taking place in their community and the advantages of doing business in the High Desert.

High Desert Opportunity (HDO) is the premier High Desert event showcasing local businesses and development opportunities for new and expanding businesses. The expo features local businesses, commercial real estate associates, the local chambers of commerce, local and regional government representatives from the High Desert.  The event is organized by a volunteer group of approximately 40 local business professionals and community leaders dedicated to promoting economic growth in the region.
