The Official 1st Reno International Salsa Congress

A salsa congress is mainly a meeting of professional, amateur and beginning salsa dancers to enjoy salsa. Salsa congresses also have a set of common elements: Shows, workshops, social parties, live bands, booths, master classes or competitions.

Produced by Rodchata, LLC, the 1st Reno International Salsa Congress will attract the participation of over 50 cities. The Reno Salsa Congress begins on Thursday, January 12th, with a pre-party and will continue until Monday 6am, January 16th.

“There had been a few small salsa events in the Reno area in the past, but there was never an official salsa congress event. Since I happened to produce one of the biggest bachata festival in this area, it’s time to make salsa congress an official annual event that would benefit salseros as well. Of course this is just the first round, the 2nd part of the salsa congress is going to happen in the summer of 2012, ” said Rodney Aquino, owner of several festivals in the world.

Mazacote, a legendary salsa band from San Francisco with Salsa Dance Champions Luis Aguilar, Anya Katsevman, Cristian Oviedo and Alien Ramirez will be heading the great line-up of dance artists coming from all over the globe to participate in such historic occasion.

The Part 2 of Reno Salsa Congress will be happening in the summer June 2012.
