Newark, NJ – Approximately eighteen eager job seekers participated in a recruitment event sponsored by the Urban League of Essex County and Home Depot. Alma D. Franco, District Human Resources Manager for the Northern Division NY Metro Region, which includes seventy locations, provided candidates with a comprehensive overview of the Home Depot company, its focus and what it takes to be a world class leader in customer service. The participants were provided insight on market trends and ways to be successful once securing an opportunity with Home Depot.

Ms. Franco stated, “As an organization, Home Depot always seeks to provide greater opportunities in the communities we serve. Partnering with the Urban League of Essex County only enhances our pool of qualified talent.”

“ We are pleased that Home Depot recognizes the value of the Community Employment Center. This is the type of corporate/community engagement we envisioned when the Employment Center opened over a year ago”, states Vann Holland, Director of Workforce Programs.

Through its Community Employment Center, the Urban League of Essex County provides skills training, job networking and additional services necessary to successful transition into employment.
