Sato Launches New White Paper

Choosing the right print engine can be daunting especially when it’s a company’s first foray into automated labelling.

Aug. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- That’s why SATO, an international leader in the Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AIDC) industry and a leader in barcode printing, labelling, and EPC/RFID solutions has made available a new white paper to assist companies in selecting an automated print and apply system which is right for their business.

The white paper Automated Print Apply: Choosing the Right Print Engine, available on SATO’s website is a step by step guide to selecting the right print engine, one of the key components in the automated print and apply system, and also advises on everything to look for when choosing a printer.

The white paper details specific information on: Serviceability, the overall serviceability of a print engine; Connectivity, does the printer offer the data communication interface option required by the application?; Commitment, print engines used in automated print apply applications are vastly different when compared to traditional desktop label printers; Usability, a printer’s usability is probably the most overlooked aspect of print engine selection; and To Match or not to Match, matching is not always a good thing when it comes to selecting a print and apply print engine. Just because a particular brand of desktop thermal printer is already in use within an organisation, that should not be the most important factor in determining the brand of print engine selected for an automated print and apply application.

Commenting on the white paper Brian Lang, SATO International Europe’s Managing Director said:
“As a leading expert in barcoding, printing and labelling, SATO has a wealth of knowledge and expertise that it can share. Combine this with SATO’s innovative range of products and services, and businesses have the perfect partner to work with. This white paper will be of great help to anyone looking at selecting an automated print and apply system for the first time or even those looking at replacing or upgrading their current solution”
