Aug. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- The Colonial Heritage Community Foundation (CHCF) has announced the date of its annual Harvest Ball at Lennar’s Colonial Heritage in Williamsburg.  The fundraiser will be held Sept. 17 at 6 p.m., in the Colonial Heritage grand ballroom, located at 6500 Arthur Hills Dr. in Williamsburg, and tickets to the black-tie optional event are currently available for $65 per person or $520 for a table of eight.

The Harvest Ball and silent auction, featuring dinner and dancing, is one of CHCF’s largest fundraisers.  In 2010 the Harvest Ball raised more than $8,000, and event organizer Joan Bender hopes 2011 will be a record-breaking year for fundraising.

“Our foundation has a motto of ‘caring for caregivers,’ and our goal is to make sure the residents in our community have all the resources they need to age in place,” said Bender.  “The Harvest Ball provides the funds to ensure our mission is carried out.”

Guests at the 2011 Harvest Ball will have a chance to participate in both silent and live auctions with such fabulous items as a week-long getaway to King’s Creek Plantation, a Club Car golf cart, set of new golf irons, a seven-night cruise for two to any  Royal Caribbean destination and more.  Dinner, to be prepared by local Iron Chef winner Randy Epps, will feature a mixed greens salad, duo plate of prime rib and Chef Epps’ signature crab cake, roasted potatoes and asparagus, followed by a special dessert.  A cash bar will also be available.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.ColonialHeritageCommunityFoundation.org or by contacting Rosie Crocco at 757-258-4629 or Joan Bender at 757-345-6974.  Auction purchases and 10 percent of ticket purchases are tax deductible.

Lennar’s Colonial Heritage provides a perfect location near Colonial Williamsburg and endless amenities for the active adult lifestyle.  The community features a wide variety of home plans and pricing, miles of walking and biking paths, a 25,000-square-foot clubhouse, resort-style amenities and more.  Community residents established CHCF to provide support and care for residents, including monthly support groups for caregivers, activities approved by the Alzheimer’s Association and four educational programs per year, which are free and open to the public.
