It will be held Sept. 17 at 6 p.m., in the Colonial Heritage ballroom, located at 6500 Arthur Hills Dr. in Williamsburg.

In 2010 the Harvest Ball raised more than $8,000, and event organizer Joan Bender hopes 2011 will be a record-breaking year for fundraising. “Our foundation has a motto of ‘caring for caregivers,’ Guests at the 2011 Harvest Ball will have a chance to participate in both silent and live auctions with such fabulous items as a week-long getaway to King’s Creek Plantation, a Club Car golf cart, set of new golf irons, a seven-night cruise for two to any Royal Caribbean destination and more. Dinner, to be prepared by local Iron Chef winner Randy Epps, will feature a mixed greens salad, duo plate of prime rib and Chef Epps’ signature crab cake, roasted potatoes and asparagus, followed by a special dessert.
