In order to ensure uninterrupted electricity services, the state is about to set up the first biomass-based power plant. And on the other hand, in terms of Public Distribution System, Gaya District of Bihar has taken a step further to ensure safety and security to the people. With the help of Oglacs, a Delhi based software development company, the district's administration has taken up steps to improve the safety of the PDS in the district.

The plant here spoken about is expected to be operative by the end of this year at Giddha Industrial Growth Center near Ara. For this rice husk will be used to generate electricity and coal will be used in case rice husk is unavailable. The Bihar Industries Association's general secretary, Sanjay Goenka said that the paper mill in which the power plant will be installed would manufacture paper of cardboard and craft paper. He also remarked that setting up of this plant could pave way for the setting up of several such plants across the state and one such power plant would feed electricity to at least 7-8 small scale industries and other micro industries..

Similarly, the new and revolutionized PDS system in Gaya is already operational. The district administration and Oglacs together created a website wherein users can gain information related to PDS schemes, issue of commodities and other from the site. Users can also register with the site and gain access to a whole new way of filing complaints and checking status of their complaints. Apart from that, integrated weight management-cum-MIS Solution for public distribution system employed by the district will ensure the proper functioning of the system. It also checks the misusing of food supplies available in the Fair Price Shops.

Oglacs, the software and IT outsourcing company that mainly works in fields related to software and web application development is proud to be successful in executing the PDS Gaya project.

These two projects the biomass-based power plant and revolutionized Public Distribution System are signs that Bihar has stepped into unconventional fuel resources and advanced technology that will help the state prosper.
