Aug. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- The official count is in and approximately 1,500 residents from Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, Philadelphia, Charlotte, etc. attended Miami Takeover July 22-24 to enjoy four large-scale, celebrity events. Weekend highlights included a sold-out Saturday night extravaganza with hip-hop Pioneer Doug E. Fresh and a Beach Cleanup on Sunday, July 24, with support from the Environmental Coalition of Miami and the Beaches (ECOMB).

On Friday, during the check-in at host hotels, the Shelborne Beach Resort and Royal Palm, Miami Takeover sponsor Barefoot Wine & Bubbly hosted a registration reception with complimentary wine.

Later that evening, Dream Night Club hosted Miami Takeover for a sold-out kick-off celebration, the All-White Affair, with Dee Jay Casper and Host Crown Royal.
On Saturday, the excitement on South Beach continued with a celebrity event hosted by Hip-Hop Pioneer Doug E. Fresh and Bad Boys Official Great Show DJ SNS.
Sunday began with the community service project –the Miami Takeover Beach Cleanup, with approximately 40 members of the Miami Takeover group. This experience proved to be special for volunteers who learned about the damage of plastics, trash and other debris to the Miami area beaches and wildlife. Several vacationers on the beach expressed their gratitude and some even joined in the cleanup! In total, ten large bags of trash and recyclables were collected.

DJ SNS and Doug E. Fresh returned for the finale event at Club Play on Sunday evening, with an electrifying Mardi Gras Miami soiree.

Throughout the weekend, Miami Takeover poured over $500,000 into the local economy and made an amazing impact on venues, hotels and the City of Miami Beach. Next year, Miami Takeover will return to South Beach for its fifth year anniversary. Visit
