Entrepreneur Mom Establishes Affordable Organic Skin Care Company

Aug. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- Having suffered from skin issues such as acne and discoloration for much of her life, attorney Sarah Holmes was nervous when her doctor advised her to discontinue her prescription skin products while pregnant.  Determined to not suffer from bad skin for nine months, Holmes turned to organic skin care products.  The problem?  Purchasing just a few items was extremely costly.

Holmes then began to experiment with various ingredients from her kitchen, such as yogurt and blueberries.  Face masques were made from powdered clays and eventually face washes were created.  Testing the products on family and friends became a monthly event met with encouraging words.  Sensing an opportunity, Holmes decided to break into the beauty business.

Now with a full range of products including organic skin care, natural face treatments, mineral make up and fragrance, Gritty City Beauty Co. offers something for everyone looking for more "green" personal and home products.  Holmes sells her products at local markets and several local boutiques.  The best advertisement for the company is her improved skin.  "I no longer rely on prescription products," says Holmes.  "I think using natural ingredients really calmed my skin and others that have used the products are thrilled with the results."

For fall, Holmes has a new sugar scrub and home fragrance soy wax candle line.  What does the future hold?  "Hopefully we can reach even more people this year, we really believe in our products and the proof is on my face!"
