Loveland, Ohio, Firm RecruitMilitary to Produce Veteran Hiring Events for U.S. Chamber
RecruitMilitary LLC, based in Loveland, Ohio (Greater Cincinnati), has joined with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in a nationwide initiative to increase the hiring of veterans by producing special hiring events - the first to take place in Cincinnati.
On March 24, the U.S. Chamber had already launched “Business Steps Up: Hiring Our Heroes,” a year-long effort to help veterans and their spouses find employment by means of veteran hiring events. The U.S. Chamber has scheduled more than 100 Hiring Our Heroes events across the nation through March 2012.
In 2011, RecruitMilitary will produce 13 of the events, called Hiring Our Heroes/RecruitMilitary Veteran Opportunity Expos—on September 22 in Cincinnati, October 6 in Pittsburgh, October 13 in Phoenix, October 20 in Atlanta and Kansas City, October 27 in Jacksonville, November 3 in Philadelphia and Seattle/Tacoma, November 10 in Dallas, November 17 in Charlotte and Norfolk, December 1 in San Diego, and December 8 in Houston.
To maximize the number of employers participating in those events as well as the job opportunities for veterans and military spouses, RecruitMilitary is offering companies that are members of the U.S. Chamber and local chambers a 10% discount on the cost of their exhibition booths. Additionally, RecruitMilitary will offer further price reductions for iajed small businesses (businesses that have less than 50 employees), and even lower rates for veteran-owned small businesses.
“We are pleased to partner with the U.S. Chamber in this initiative,”
“The Chamber started the Hiring our Heroes initiative because many of our members—which include thousands of small, medium, and large businesses—want to hire veterans and military spouses,” said Kevin Schmiegel, Vice President of Veterans Employment Programs at the U.S. Chamber and a retired Marine Lieutenant Colonel. “Even with high unemployment, we have a huge skills gap in America that is hindering our recovery. Veterans can help fill that gap because they have unique leadership experience and advanced technical expertise.”
RecruitMilitary has produced more than 325 Veteran Opportunity Expos coast-to-coast since 2006. Over 2,000 employers, franchisors, and educational institutions have exhibited at those events. The company also offers search licenses to its database of more than 420,000 registered veteran job seekers at www.recruitmilitary.com, retained hiring services, and online and print advertising space. RecruitMilitary distributes more than 36,000 copies of each issue of Search & Employ®, its bimonthly print magazine, to over 220 military bases throughout the world, National Guard and reserve units, and job seekers who attend its Opportunity Expos.
RecruitMilitary was founded in 1998, and is a member of the Loveland Area Chamber of Commerce, the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. All of RecruitMilitary’
