The Tweet2Give.com platform allows a celebrity spokesperson to "Tweet" their followers, or post on their Facebook page, a request that a donation be made to a specific non-profit organization. Tweet2Give tracking system is able to compare donations between several celebrities for contests to see which celebrity's followers can raise the most donations for a designated charity. These donations can be tracked individually or by “team”. Fans can also join the fun by establishing their own goal and link page.
Tweet2Give uses Twitter's and Facebook’s ability to reach large groups of loyal celebrity fans and provides followers with a secure and direct donation process. It provides non-profit organizations the perfect program to reach new donors using the technology that they are most comfortable with. “People who follow celebrities on Twitter and Facebook are considered to be their loyalist fans, and many are willing to support their favorite celebrity's donation requests. The popularity of Twitter and Facebook with all age groups has resulted in generating larger donations than many non-profits anticipated,"
