HelpDesk OSP V3 Released With New Design Business Solutions has launched a new version of its issue tracking tool for Outlook and SharePoint, HelpDesk OSP. Version 3 has a totally new design, and some enhancements have also been added.
Aug. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- HelpDesk OSP was born in 2008, when the team was asked to develop an Outlook add-on that could connect Outlook to SharePoint. At that time the SharePoint platform was not as common as it is nowadays. CEO Peter Kalmstrom and his developers had mostly developed for Outlook and Exchange, but they entered a new field with their usual enthusiasm. From the beginning the application was only meant for converting e-mails into SharePoint list items, autimatically or manually and with all formatting, images and attachments kept. As the demand has increased for publishing to SharePoint directly from Outlook, the Blank ticket button in version 3 has more alternatives than before. You may create a totally blank ticket and fill out everything when the list items opens in Outlook, you may fill out Caller details in Outlook before the list items opens or you may pick the Caller data from the Global Address Book or Outlook Contacts.

The login to the SharePoint site has been simplified, and now HelpDesk OSP is even intelligent enough to correct mistakes made by the user. Claims-based authentication has also been added to fully support Office 365.

HelpDesk OSP supports all kinds of SharePoint sites, and the configuration is easy. A Settings form in Outlook handles the connection between Outlook and SharePoint, and the admin configures it for all users. Subsequent users only have to log into the same SharePoint site to get the SharePoint lists and their mapping to Outlook in their own machines.
