Esai Morales is an American film, television, and theatre actor famous for his long running television roles as "Lt. Tony Rodriguez" on the hit television series NYPD Blue and as "Joseph Adama" on Caprica, and for starring in movies La Bamba, Bad Boys, Kevin Costner's Rapa-Nui, and Death in Granada (originally titled The Disappearance of Garcia Lorca).

In his illustrious career spanning close to three decades, Esai has accrued an amazing eighty film and television projects to his credit, with the majority as starring roles. Esai began his career in theatre and is also a producer and director. Esai has worked alongside fellow talented actors Sean Penn, Eric Stoltz, Vincent D'Onofrio, Lou Diamond Phillips, Andy Garcia, Kevin Bacon, Edward James Olmos, Burt Lancaster, Matt Dillon, Gary Busey, Jeremy Piven, and Joe Mantegna.

Currently Esai is cast in Lives of the Saints with John Lithgow, Kat Dennings, Meg Ryan, 50 Cent and Anthony Anderson now in production. Esai also stars in Seattle Superstorm in post-production, and the critically acclaimed award-winning Gun Hill Road which was debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. He also recently produced and starred in the television series Los Americans.
