In 1969, John and Yoko staged the first “bed-in,” an attempt for world peace by staying in bed.  The goal was to enlighten the world, and put the power back in to the hands of the people during the height of the Vietnam War.
The seventy-minute documentary, filmed over the course of a week in the hotel room in Montreal is now available to watch online in its entirety at backpagemagazine.com.
Originally scheduled to air for one weekend only at Yoko Ono’s own website, it was subsequently extended until midnight August 21st.   Back Page Magazine editor Jeff Cazanov chose to put it up indefinitely at the magazine’s website, as a tribute to Yoko Ono and her powerful protest for peace.
In an introduction to the video, a statement reads: “Let all generations, old and young, witness how two passionate people tried to make a difference.  Thank you, Yoko!”
The Lennon/Ono bed-in video appears in the Back Page Magazine regularly-featured column “Fight The Power,” which covers stories of individual “everyman” protests and citizen activism.
