-- MONTEREY PARK, CALIFORNIA – United States – August 19, 2011 – Continental Colorcraft, a Southern California based graphic communications company, today announced that it signed a two year agreement with the Graphic Communication Conference / International Brotherhood of Teamsters. One of the company principals stated, “With the signing of this contract we are continuing our commitment to the front-to-back (from prepress to print to bindery and finishing) ideal of union representation of our employees. We are proud to be among the few graphic communications companies that support union workers.”
The president of Continental Colorcraft commented, “Using a union printer is a choice in the graphic arts and communication industry. When you patronize a union printer, you are helping maintain and improve environmental and safety protections throughout our industry. The union label is the assurance that you have received a competitively priced product produced in a fair work environment.”
In June of the this year Continental Colorcraft was awarded the Sappi’s Printer of the Year Award for its manufacture of the book, ‘Eye for the Sensual’ a coffee table book. It contains some of the most stunning photography, sharp and crisp printing and high-quality perfect binding produced by any union printer in North America. “The craftsmanship and innovation demonstrated by our gold winners is an outstanding example of why print remains a vital communication medium,” said Jennifer Miller of Sappi Fine Papers when the award announcement was made. After the awards ceremony a spokesperson for Continental Colorcraft told the audience, ‘It is in great part to our dedication to being high quality union printer that we have we won this award. We are so fortunate to have this group of dedicated union printing workers to get to this level of work,’ she said.
