Underfloor Heating Control Options

Underfloor Heating Systems are usually supplied with thermostatic options. This basically means that on the return manifold, actuators can be mounted. The actuators act on an on/off basis and they are connected to an air thermostat in each room.

Aug. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Heatmiser TouchScreen room thermostats are available in 230 V models, 12 V networking models, air/floor models, 5/2 day & 7 day programming, adjustable switching differential, frost protection, networking facility, keylock function and two zone models.

Some underfloor heating systems can also be used with Wireless room thermostats and wireless receivers.  The RC1-W is a flush mounted wireless thermostat receiver.  It is capable of controlling two heating zones using a PRT-W.

The UH-1 is a wireless 230 V 8 zone wiring centre to be used with an underfloor heating system when wireless room thermostats are used.  The wiring centre should be fitted above the underfloor heating manifold.  Eight zones can be controlled as well as providing an output for a hot water cylinder.

On demand from any zone, a 230 V output is provided to switch the relevant zone actuators, underfloor heating pump and valve.  A volt free connection is supplied for the boiler, making it compatible with almost all types of boilers.  Up to six actautors can be connected to each zone. An external aerial is available for use when the UH1-W is being mounted in a metal cupboard or when the wireless signal is restricted.

A software option in the thermostat allows you to configure which zones are underfloor heating and which zones are radiators. Radiator zones will not enable the underfloor heating pump and underfloor heating valve when there is a call for heat.
