Aug. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- Hundreds of visitors with a quest for knowledge and information about the Jamaican property scene turned out to the recent Jamaica Property Magazine Launch and Expo at Lambeth Town Hall, in south London (30 July 2011).

Jamaica Property Magazine is a 72-page, half yearly, full colour magazine with properties across the fourteen parishes of Jamaica and includes features such as to buy or to build your property, what to do before making an offer on a property, as well as other articles such as family activities and planning a wedding in Jamaica. The magazine which is the first of its kind in the UK, fills a gap in the market for information about property in Jamaica - which the recent Expo has shown is both a growing and a booming market - and information is much-needed.

Tamoy Carter, director of Jamaica Property Magazine, was extremely pleased with the turnout at the Expo. “We were very surprised with the amount of visitors who came to the event, showing that there is a high demand for Real Estate in Jamaica from the UK. The exhibitors were kept busy all day with the steady traffic flow,” he said.

The Expo was endorsed by the Jamaica Tourist Board, JAMPRO, the Jamaican Diaspora UK and sponsored by Tropical Connections, Transpakship International and Richmond Development.  Exhibitors included the Jamaica Tourist Board; Transpakship; Barbara Ledgister, Attorney at Law; Jamaica National Building Society; Kemtek Development; Sackville Travel; NCB Remittance Service; Tropical Connections & Personal FX; Platinum Investment Property; Century21 UK & Drummond Mortgages; and Promoting our Heritage.

The Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) held a mortgage seminar which enabled visitors to get information on how to obtain a mortgage in Jamaica.

Visitors were also kept entertained for the afternoon with the captivating Jamaica 3D footage, the first 3D destination video in the travel industry shown at the Jamaica Tourist Board booth.

Mr Carter said: “As a result of great interest from the exhibitors and visitors, we are considering an annual ‘Jamaica Property Expo’ in the UK.

“Because we expect a buzzing 2012 with both the Olympics and Jamaica’s 50th independence, next year could be one of the best times to showcase Jamaica to the UK, not only as an island with a lucrative Real Estate but also as the number one holiday destination in the Caribbean.”

The day finished with three lucky winners: Ms Lorraine Fears (visitor), who won a trip to Jamaica. Ms Luwana Bell (visitor), and Mr Zahur Chowdhry (from Platinum Investment Property), each won a hamper full of groceries from Grace Foods UK.
