The creators of Accurist, Rebecca and Asher Loftus set out to make a brand of watches that provided quality and reliability but at affordable prices and also set out to change the publics perception of watches - wanting them to be seen as more of a fashion accessory rather than a simple timepiece.

This was achieved in the 1960's when the Accurist Old England range of watches become one of the most iconic watches of that era. During this time Accurist watches were as fashionable as the mini-skirt and took watch fashion to a new level. No longer were watches just used as a means of telling the time - Accurist made them fashionable accessories in their own right and a whole host of stars were seen wearing the Old England range.

In the 1970's Accurist were developing new technology and were one of the leading watch manufacturers developing quartz, LCD and LED digital watches and towards the end of the 70's Accurist advertisments were a regular occurance coining the popular slogan that is remembered to this day by that generation. The "Acc-Your-Wrist, Acc-Your-Ankle" slogan was even revived for a new campaign recently to promote the new exciting range of more modern Accurist watches.

Accurist watches popularity in the 80's and 90's continued but by the end of the 90's they released the hugely successful Accu2 range of watches which were marketed towards the younger generation.
