Aug. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Bethesda, MD, August 17, 2011 – Leaders in the recently launched Hospitality Sustainable Purchasing Consortium welcome its newest member, Majestic Mirror and Frame.

The Hospitality Sustainable Purchasing Consortium, created and led by MindClick SGM™, is working collaboratively to develop an industry wide Hospitality Sustainable Purchasing Index (HSPI).  HSPI will help hotel owners purchase products that both reduce their properties’ environmental impact, and contribute to guest comfort, health and well-being.

“Our company strives toward green practices in manufacturing and shipping products. We’re happy to be part of this group and look forward to building performance standards for the hospitality industry,” said Adam Jaffe, Executive Vice President of Majestic Mirror and Frame.

Majestic Mirror and Frame, based in Miami (FL), produces mirrors and decorative frames for hotels and retail furniture stores. In its green practices, the company utilizes recycled materials in select products, implements recycling programs at its facilities, and provides flexible shipping logistics to reduce fuel costs. Through these efforts, cost savings and alternative green products are available to customers.

“They demonstrate that you can still be customer focused while striving for more sustainable practices. It’s these types of creative ideas that will help the Consortium provide useful information and resources for sustainable purchasing of furniture, fixtures and equipment,” said Alan Benjamin, President of Benjamin West.

Consortium members will customize MindClick SGM’s Sustainability Performance Index to establish sustainability performance criteria for the Hospitality Industry.  The result will be the Hospitality Sustainable Purchasing Index (HSPI) and will include measures of corporate social responsibility, environmental and product sustainability.  Product categories covered include furnishings, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), and operating supplies and equipment (OS&E).

Majestic Mirror and Frame joins existing Consortium members Marriott International, Audit Logistics, Benjamin West, Contract Decor International, Delta Faucet Company, Innvision, InterfaceFLOR, PE INTERNATIONAL Inc., Quiltcraft Industries, RTKL, SERA Architects, and Valley Forge Fabrics.

Additional participants in the categories of bedding, carpeting, case goods, faucets, seating and more are in the process of joining the Consortium.

“We encourage other hospitality industry stakeholders to join us. The more organizations that join us, the better the collaboration for greening the hospitality supply chain,” said Dave Lippert, Vice President -- A&C Procurement of Marriott International.
