South Beach Coffee Company to sell their coffee in a major Canadian grocery chain.

Aug. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- August 2011: South Beach Coffee is in negotiations with the Sobeys, the second-largest grocery chain in Canada, to market their gourmet coffee line. The chain will offer two size packages, 42.5g/1.5oz and 340g/12oz. 10 flavors will be offered: French Vanilla, Columbian Supremo, French Roast, Hazelnut, Irish Cream, Southern Pecan, Chocolate Raspberry, Kahlua and Cream, and Strudel Cake. The chain test marketed 18 flavors for six months. After countless trials, the 10 final flavors were determined based on what Sobeys felt would please their patrons.  In addition, South Beach coffee will also be offering Sobeys French clientele coffee with European themes such as Cappuccino flavor, Tiramisu, Espresso Roast and Café con Leche.

Sobeys is the second-largest grocery chain in Canada since the late 1990s when it acquired the IGA franchise by purchasing the Oshawa Group Ltd. (IGA is a name used by independent grocery stores worldwide). Sobeys operates more than 1,300 stores under various banners throughout the country including the smaller discount grocery chain Price Chopper, the Foodland chain, Thrifty Foods chain, Tradition Markets and Food Town stores. Each of these smaller chains and stores is operating in a couple of provinces.
