Valhalla Children Organize Summer Fundraiser for Blythedale

Aug. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- VALHALLA (August 2011)—The children in one Valhalla neighborhood decided to put their summer fun to work by organizing a special fundraiser to the benefit Blythedale Children’s Hospital. They raised $135 by selling lemonade and Grandma’s chocolate chip cookies (from a family recipe) and accepting sponsorships for swimming laps in a pool. Calling themselves the “Armond Angels,” the children, aged 6-11, hope to make the fundraiser an annual activity.

“We are so thankful for this wonderful gift.  What a fun way to enjoy the summer and help other children,” said Lena Cavanna, Blythedale’s Director of Community Relations. “This group of children reflects the spirit of community and caring that is at the heart of Blythedale.”
