Aug. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- LONG ISLAND, N.Y. – John Staluppi, owner of Atlantic Auto Group, has been named to the Long Island Press 9th Annual Power List, a ranking of the year’s 50 most influential Long Islanders, for the fourth consecutive year. John Staluppi joins a class of successful business owners, philanthropists and other giants including Fox News TV personality Bill O’Reilly.
The 50 Long Islanders named to the list were chosen among hundreds because of their influence and impact on Long Island.
John Staluppi, for his part, was named to the list because of his continuously growing group of car dealerships, for building some of the world’s largest luxury yachts and for his reputation of making large charitable contributions throughout Long Island.
“John Staluppi conducts business so the communities in which he operates his dealerships benefit,” said Michael Brown, Vice President of Atlantic Auto Group. “He’s incredibly passionate about providing jobs to Long Islanders through his vast network of dealerships and even more passionate about giving back to the community. His dedication to supporting charitable organizations moves all of us to dig deeper and work harder to make a positive impact in the communities we live and work in.”
Some of the philanthropic causes John Staluppi and Atlantic Auto Group have supported include the National Kidney Registry—an organization that established an international registry to match kidney donors with those needing kidney transplants; Hyundai Motor Corp’s Hope on Wheels and the Jimmy fund—groups that support pediatric cancer research and improved cancer therapies; the Clarke Gillies Foundation; American Cancer Society; the Rose Brucia Foundation to Prevent Childhood Abduction; Make A Wish; Big Brothers & Big Sisters; and many more.
John Staluppi’s philanthropic passion may have roots in his humble beginnings. Staluppi wasn’t born into wealth but worked his way up from Brooklyn mechanic to dealership owner. Through his creative energy and drive to succeed, he built an enterprise that today consists of 19 dealerships, including top luxury brands such as Audi, Lexus and Cadillac as well as popular makes such as Volkswagen, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota and Nissan.
His company Atlantic Auto Group employs more than 1,700 people on Long Island and provide vehicles to thousands more.
