Chudbus Charity Event A Success For Zibrant

Aug. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Meetings venue specialists, Sundial Group has been awarded one of two ‘supplier of the day’ awards at Zibrant’s charity fun day, held in aid of the Prince’s Trust.
Sundial's iconic English Routemaster bus  was rolled out to host a stand and was on hand to serve BBQ food to friends and family of the team at Zibrant's Global Sales and Marketing office. The fun day turned out to be sun drenched with a number of suppliers attending, helping to make a huge success of the event and raising an amazing £3638.75 for the Prince’s Trust.
The UK meeting venue team manning The Chudbus for the day was recognised as one of the most popular stalls, culminating in Sundial Venues and the Chudbus being announced as ‘Supplier of the Day’ winner for the most impactful stand. The bright red classic London double decker is a promotional vehicle and unique meeting venue, used by Sundial Group at special events up and down the country. The distinctive Routemaster, loving restored and recently renovated to include a top desk corporate entertainment lounge gives a nod to the history and values behind the award-winning firm.
Since the Chudbus first debuted at the National Venue Show in 2004, it has become well known within the meetings industry, securing major press coverage from the likes of Conference News and Meetings & Incentive Travel Magazine. The bus has become an important symbol in portraying Sundial’s history and values – the Chudley family, owner-operators of the hospitality group, used to travel around in a bus in the sixties because it was the easiest way to transport their family of 11! The Chudbus became well known around Northamptonshire and indeed across the UK when Gaumont Rank showed newsreel and the BBC broadcast the story about the extraordinary Chudley family and their bus.
Today Sundial has developed into a first class hospitality group, synonymous with value for money, first class meetings venues and innovative team building events. The Prince's Trust support young people in the UK by offering practical and financial support to those who need it the most. The Trust helps develop key skills, confidence and motivation, enabling young people to move into work, education and training. The aim of Zibrant's event was to raise money for the Prince’s Trust Wild UK challenge in which 16 participants from Zibrant will bike, hike and kayak 100 miles across Somerset and Devon in just three days. All money raised through the raffles, fun and games will go directly to the charity. The Sundial team donated their time and BBQ treats to support the event.
